I am so thankful for the day that the Lord has made, it was a wonderful warm 50's this morning! I wore a skirt without the requirement of tights for warmth! Besides my legs being starkly white, almsot purple (transluscent) it felt amazing.
Friday night I rushed to my parents place to attend an auction in Truxton. It was interesting, only a few items were worthy of our attention- and we ended up having the highest bid on both! You shall see these fabulous treasures after Easter.
Saturday I spent the majority of the day being creative. I decided to break out the sewing machine and my scrap fabric from 10 years ago. I thought I would try my hand at sewing. As very few probably know/remember, I was crowned Miss Warren County in 2005- my talent for the show was a 'runway show' complete with all my sewn creations. My favorite item was a green cropped jacket trimmed in yellow- (imagine a marching band jacket.) It was fabulous!
Anyway, my main goal was to create a skirt, and then dip dye/bleach it. I made three skirts in total, but only one turned out how I wanted.
I simply dipped the bottom of the skirt in a bucket of bleach... I think next time, I need to use a paint brush and 'paint' the bleach on the skirt. It came out a little too blochy. But I love the idea and results and cannot wait to try it out again. Maybe next time I'll use a pair of old jeans... Hmmm..
One of the trends this Spring that I am pretty excited about, is Tangerine. Tangerine clothes, shoes and accessories! I was a little weary at first about wearing bright orange, but then I decided I can incorporate this colorful trend in to my wardrobe in other ways- and I believe the first step of introduction is through jewely.
I am in love with this necklace- and I made it! It's the first of many.
